Ford Sollers to supply more than 600 ambulances to 67 Russian regions

21.04.2020

Ford Sollers will supply 653 ambulances under contract to the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation. All these Class C vehicles will be based on the Ford Transit chassis.

The company is planning to deliver vehicles as soon as practically possible: the first batch will be supplied to healthcare institutions in April, the remaining vehicles in May and June of this year.

The supply of ambulances to 67 regions of the Russian Federation is planned as part of efforts to combat the consequences of the spread of the novel coronavirus infection. Regional healthcare providers selected the Ford Transit due to its high reliability and low service costs, the well-developed dealership network providing high-quality service, the vehicle's full adaptation to Russian conditions, and the possibility of equipping vehicles in accordance with the customer's requirements and needs.

Class C ambulances based on the Ford Transit are equipped with modern intensive care equipment provided by leading global and Russian manufacturers in accordance with GOST requirements. The vehicles are supplied with ventilator, monitor defibrillator, electrocardiogram with microprocessor-based control and automatic ECG processing, patient parameter monitor, ECG device supporting remote data transfer, stretcher trolley for transporting patients, and other equipment in accordance with the requirements of the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation. Other high-tech equipment includes GLONASS satellite navigation system and tablet PCs. The vehicles provide all the necessary conditions for resuscitation and intensive care.

The vehicles will be constructed on the front wheel drive Ford Transit chassis with long wheelbase, 2.2-liter diesel engine (125 hp) and 6-speed manual transmission. The ambulances will have all the advantages of Ford Transit vehicles, i.e. adaptation to urban conditions and Russian roads, manoeuvrability, compactness and safety, as well as high fuel efficiency. The vehicle offers power steering, fog lights, air conditioning system, anti-lock braking system, electronic stability control, hill start assist control, brake assist, and driver seat airbag as standard. The body of the vehicle comes with an eight-year rust-through corrosion warranty.
