Ford Sollers will supply 170 shuttle buses of Class “A” and comfortable buses “Tourist” of Class “B” to Governmental Committee of Transport and Public Road System of Bashkortostan Republic. These vehicles will be used as public transport for suburban and interurban routs. Ford Transit was chosen through tender procedure and met all the requirements announced.
First 110 Ford Transit units were handed over to “Bashautotrans” today. The acting Head of Bashkortostan Republic Radiy Khabirov attended the ceremony in Ufa.
The vehicles will be delivered to “Bashautotrans” branches in Baymak, Belebey, Birsk, Dyurtyul, Krasnousolsk, Meleuz, Mesyagutov, Oktyabrsky, Tuymazakh, Salavat, Sibay and Uchaly. Thus all these towns will have established transport routs with the capital of the Republic Ufa by 1st September.

Ford Transit shuttle buses of Class “A” with long wheelbase were chosen for suburban routs. These vehicles have RWD and diesel engine Duratorq TDCi 2.2l (136 ps) with 6-speed manual transmission. City shuttle buses of Class “A” are equipped with maximum passenger seats in a traffic direction. This configuration allows to transport up 22 passengers (with 19 seats). For interurban routs Ford Transit “Tourist” buses of Class “B” will be supplied. The vehicles are equipped with comfortable seats with taller seat-backs and can fit up to 17 passengers.

The supplied Ford Transit vehicles have among basic equipment: anti-lock braking system, stability control system, hill launch assist, emergency braking system, driver’s air bag, driver’s seat adjustment in 8 direction, air conditioning and interior heater to make the temperature comfortable even during severe winters.
At present the full model range of Ford Transit derivatives, which are developed by Ford Sollers R&D centre, exceeds 55 different versions for social and special needs.
Ford Transit is produced at Ford Sollers Elabuga plant in full circle that offers Ford customers the modern product adapted to Russian roads and conditions at a reasonable price. The basic line-up includes van, bus and chassis. All the versions are available for order in three length of wheelbase, two heights of roof and types of wheel drive. Ford Transit has reliable and efficient diesel engines 2.2l (125-155 ps).
