RusHydro, Sollers Group and Sibur have concluded an agreement on the implementation of logistics projects in the Far Eastern Federal District

Within the framework of the Eastern Economic Forum, RusHydro PJSC, Sollers Group LLC and SIBUR Holding PJSC have signed a package of documents on cooperation in the sphere of logistics and warehousing services in the Far Eastern Federal District.

The documents were signed by RusHydro PJSC General Director Victor Khmarin, Sollers Group LLC General Director Vadim Shvetsov, and SIBUR Holding PJSC Management Committee Chairman Dmitry Konov.

Under the agreement, RusHydro and Sollers Group will implement a joint project of creating a new logistics complex—a container terminal with a total capacity of up to 3,000 TEU, which will occupy areas to be vacated as a result of the Vladivostok CHPP-2 upgrade.

The projected terminal will specialize primarily in the handling of container cargoes of Russian enterprises, arriving by rail from other regions of Russia and destined for export to APR markets. Russia’s largest petrochemical company, SIBUR Holding, whose products account for about 70% of containerized cargo turnover through the port of Vladivostok, will be the future terminal’s anchor client. It is worth noting that SIBUR Holding launched the construction of the Amur Gas Chemistry Conglomerate last year.

Sollers Group General Director Vadim Shvetsov stressed that “this new logistics project in Vladivostok reflects the growing demand for containerized cargo traffic through the Far Eastern ports and is a unique example of re-engineering existing infrastructure to meet present-day market trends.”

RusHydro General Director and Management Committee Chairman Victor Khmarin said: “We see significant potential in re-purposing the area vacated by the Vladivostok CHPP-2, which will allow us to expand the logistics capacity of Vladivostok port, creating more jobs and extra value for RusHydro.”

RusHydro PJSC and Sollers Group LLC have agreed to set up a 50/50 joint venture as an SPV to facilitate construction of the multipurpose logistics terminal. The parties plan to complete construction operations in December 2022.
