SOLLERS continues its large-scale product localisation program: The Sollers Argo light-duty truck has become the first commercial vehicle model of the brand to be equipped with a locally manufactured transmission. Transmissions are produced at the new SOLLERS Transmission Production plant at Zavolzhsky Motor Plant industrial park.
The Russian-made six-speed manual transmission is installed on vehicles with the two-litre diesel engine with an output of 130 hp, which is also produced in Russia – at the SOLLERS engine plant in Elabuga. In the future, other Sollers models will also get new manual transmissions.
Especially for the manufacturing of transmissions for Sollers cars, a new production line with a capacity of up to 50,000 units per year was launched at the Zavolzhye site, the key feature of which is its ability to quickly reconfigure for different modifications. The assembly line is controlled by software developed entirely in Russia. It should be remembered that a pilot batch of transmissions was produced at the SOLLERS Transmission Production site in February 2024.
It is worth noting that the Sollers Argo is showing strong sales growth in Russia. In the first six months of 2024, sales of the model more than quadrupled compared to the results for the same period in 2023.
The Sollers Argo light commercial truck is the best solution for urban delivery. Thanks to its size and excellent visibility from the driver’s seat, the model is perfect for working in the big city.
The vehicle is equipped with a diesel or gasoline engine and even in the basic modification boasts such options as airbags for a driver and a front passenger, air conditioning, cruise control, steering column adjustment, audio system, and power windows, as well as large electrically driven and heated side mirrors. The Sollers Argo is available with standard and extended wheelbase, as well as dropside, freight and isothermal bodies with a volume of up to 14 m3.
