Sollers Transmission Production LLC, a subsidiary of Sollers PJSC, will receive a preferential loan in the amount of 564 million rubles to localize the production of a six-speed manual transmission at Zavolzhsky Motor Plant.

The loan, to be extended by the Industrial Development Fund (IDF), will be used to purchase equipment for a transmission assembly shop, a line for machining transmission components, and a casting shop for pattern equipment.

Sollers Group is scheduled to launch serial production of manual transmissions at Zavolzhsky Plant in the second quarter of 2024. The enterprise will assemble and test manual transmissions. Plans also envisage localizing technological operations on casting and machining crankcases, and, in the longer run, it is planned to localize the production of all major elements of manual transmissions.

Production volume under the project will amount to 7,000 pcs in 2024 with subsequent growth to 50,000 pcs per year. New transmissions will be installed on Sollers light commercial vehicles, pickup trucks, and UAZ brand vehicles. The company also plans to install locally manufactured transmissions on other domestically made vehicles.

The project is expected to create about 100 jobs.
