UAZ Autocomponent, a subsidiary of SOLLERS PJSC, has been nominated by the Ulyanovsk site of Schaeffler Manufacturing Rus, OOO as the sole supplier of LuK clutch release disc castings.
At the first stage of cooperation, the supply volume will be up to 60 thousand castings per year for one product range.
According to Andrey Saltanov, CEO of UAZ Autocomponent, LLC, this nomination was preceded by a series of production audits.
“After the audits, UAZ Autocomponent was nominated as the only supplier of castings for a production site located in the special economic zone of Ulyanovsk with the prospect of expanding the range and volume of deliveries to include other Schaeffler plants in Russia,” –
he said.
At the current time, UAZ Autocomponent has also started the production of pilot batches of clutch pressure plate castings for three more modifications of the Schaeffler Manufacturing Rus, OOO product range. Taking into account the prospective volume, in 2021, the supply of castings could exceed 100 thousand pieces.
Readers may recall that UAZ Autocomponent was previously nominated by the passenger car manufacturer Hyundai Motor Manufacturing Rus as a supplier of crankshaft castings for its 1.6-liter engine Gamma. Total delivery volume over the next six years will amount to about 1.4 million units.
