05.08.2020

UAZ Autocomponent, a subsidiary of SOLLERS PJSC, was selected as a supplier of cast crankshafts by the car manufacturer Hyundai Motor Manufacturing Rus. Total delivery volume over the next six years will amount to about 1.4 million units.

According to Andrey Saltanov, CEO of UAZ Autocomponent LLC, the Company's selection as a supplier to provide cast crankshafts for the 1.6-litre Gamma engine is part of the project to localise supply chains. This engine is widely used, including in the popular Hyundai Solaris, Hyundai Creta, and Kia Rio models.

“Our participation in the project is envisaged for the period from 2021 to 2027, with an average annual supply of more than 230,000 crankshafts. For UAZ Autocomponent, this is a serious a long-term partnership with one of the largest participants in the Russian car market, which will become another flagship project for the SOLLERS metallurgical division,” he noted.

It should be remembered that this is not the metallurgical division's first experience doing business with foreign manufacturers. Previously, the Rosalit foundry (located in Zavolzhye, Nizhny Novgorod Region) successfully supplied aluminium castings for Ford factories. Moreover, UAZ Autocomponent has contracts for the supply of cast iron and forged components with major Russian companies such as Russian Railways. According to results for 2019, UAZ Autocomponent LLC showed an annual increase of 15% in production volumes and shipped more than 13,000 tons of products to its customers.
