The companies UAZ and Bazra Motors have signed an agreement on the assembly of UAZ vehicles on the territory of the Republic.
During negotiations with the management of Bazra Motors, which were held during an official visit of a UAZ delegation to the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia, the two sides reached agreement on the launch of production, the stimulation of sales and the provision of after-sale maintenance for vehicles produced by UAZ in this East African country.
The agreements reached provide for the organisation of vehicle assembly using the semi knocked-down method at the site belonging to Bazra Motors in the city of Kombolcha (Amhara Region). Apart from all versions of the UAZ Patriot, UAZ Pickup and UAZ Profi, the all-terrain vehicle UAZ Hunter and the classic UAZ SGR van will also be rolling off the production line in Kombolcha. The range of models produced here may also be widened by the introduction of unique modifications, specially designed with the specificities of the Ethiopian market in mind.
The new plant is projected to reach its planned annual production capacity of 3,000 units per annum by 2023.
The delivery of the first batch of 64 vehicle set is planned for August of this year.
