A new version of Class C ambulance has been added to the UAZ Profi family. The first batch of 132 ALS ambulances will be supplied to regional healthcare institutions in May under contract to the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation.
The Ulyanovsk Automobile Plant will be supplying new ALS ambulances based on the commercial version of the Profi model to public health authorities. These top-class special versions are designed to support intensive therapeutic treatment by resuscitation teams, as well as transporting and monitoring the condition of patients with acute symptoms in the pre-hospital phase. The first batch of Class C UAZ ambulances will be supplied to regional healthcare institutions as part of the federal program to combat the consequences of the spread of the novel coronavirus infection.
The special vehicles are distinguished by their bright yellow colour and equipped with the 2.7-liter ZMZ-Pro engine (149.6 hp and 235 Nm) and 5-speed manual transmission. Part-time 4WD with single-tire wheels make it possible to maximise the performance characteristics of the model when driving on poor roads and in rural areas, while the thermally and noise-insulated modular frame with external fiberglass panels reinforced for reliable fixation of equipment ensures optimal ergonomics of the cabin for medical personnel.
An extensive list of specialized equipment includes a multifunctional trolley with height-adjustable removable stretcher, automatic support unlocking and demountable stand for injections, a trolley receiving unit that allows for lateral transportation and height adjustment of the main stretcher, a vacuum mattress, a reanimation box for emergency medical assistance, and insulated container with automatic temperature control for infusions.
Even the basic version of the Class C UAZ ambulance is fully equipped for operational resuscitation. In particular, the vehicle is fitted with biphasic monitor defibrillator with built-in printer, electrodes for adults and children, cardiac pacing, pulse oximetry and non-invasive measurement of blood pressure. The specialised medical equipment also includes patient monitor for resuscitation and anesthesiology procedures with built-in printer. The monitor permits the transfer of data to computer and supports the functions of electrocardiogram monitoring in three derivations, carbonometry, pulse oximetry, non-invasive measurement of blood pressure and measurement of patient body temperature.
The production of ALS ambulances was launched in Ulyanovsk on 13 April. The Class C UAZ ambulance is covered by the manufacturer's official warranty for three years or 100,000 kilometers.
